About 6 years ago Andy and Marcy opened Design on King, a hybrid store that has a fully accredited Interior Design business nestled within a Benjamin Moore / Hunter Douglas Retail store. The vision was to bring friendly, approachable interior design expertise directly to customers out shopping for paint colours and blinds. The model has been a success as Clients coming in for a little colour inspiration have hired us on to help them with whole home renovations and décor sourcing. While designing and supplying some commercial projects in Kingston as over the past few years, Andy and Marcy grew to love the area and the Kingston vibe. They decided to set up roots here and open a second location with the same interior design services available in our décor store.

After working together at the former Randall’s in Kingston, Laurie LeClair and Catherine Hyett decided to branch out on their own and open LeClair-Hyett Design Studio in downtown Kingston in 2010. With their true expertise in colour, design and custom window coverings, Laurie and Catherine have been delivering sophisticated window treatment solutions to their clients for many years. After providing the best solution for your blinds and shades LeClair – Hyett’s knowledge in custom drapery really sets this team apart in completing a total window solution. Laurie and atherine believe that our surroundings express who we are and what we each value and that our physical environment, whether a living space or a workplace, is important to our well-being.
